3 Diva

Recently I attended Konsert 3 Diva at Bukit Jalil. 3 Diva featuring Ruth Sahanaya, Titi DJ and Kris Dayanti. I love all of them. The best part is when they serenaded local songs tribute to our local Diva, Siti Nurhaliza and Sheila Majid. They sang it beautifully. Thanks for fantastic arrangement by my friend Erwin Gutawa. Stage design Jay Subyakto added to the glamour too. I attended same concert in Jakarta last year. They call it Konser 3 Diva. Compare to the concert in Jakarta it was equally great but I prefer the one in Jakarta as Indonesian audiance has more passion and 'ngga malu malu' to enjoy the music. Without being ask they will clap and sing along. Unlike here. I paid RM300 when I watch the concert in Jakarta but here I get VVIP ticket, for free. Thanks Datuk. No matter what people debate about DIVA issues, I couldn't be bother about it as I know they are great. I have more than 100 original CDs or Indonesian artists and I know they are great. Malaysian are great too but they are better. I would love to see Ruth Sahanaya (nick name Uthe) solo concert here. I attended her fantastic concert in Jakarta last year.

Passion for Classic Mini

Recently I bought a 1976 classic Mini (above picture). It was registered in Penang. MK3 model. Original colour is red but as been repainted to pale yellow by previous owner. Engine has been changed from 850cc to 1000cc Metro. I guess I was sucked into this passion by my brother in-law and relative who are into this 'old school' stuff. I'm into it now and to date I've spent few thousand ringgit to make it look good. Frankly I like doing it as I like DIY and gets my hands dirty. My wife has been complaining that I spent to much time with that Mini and start neglecting her...mmmm....It is ok my dear...It is just Mini not ....he he. Recently she has been asking to buy a new coffee table since we have layed a laminated flooring with American Cherry colour.I told her it is not in my priority list. She said because my priority list now has been Mini. It is okay dear, I will buy your coffee table soon.

My Mini is in workshop now doing restoration. I have yet to decide on the colour to choose. I have narrow down to few colour as per picture below. Please help me to make decission. Colour to choose are from top Nighfire Red followed with British Racing Green and then Indi Blue.

Cholesterol

Recently I went to do see a cardiologist as I had slight chest pain. On and off. I had to do all sort of test, blood, x-ray, urine and stress test. I pass all except as expected my cholesterol level is sky high of 8.7 mmol/L. Average is around 5. Doctor said I'm lucky not to have a heart problem as an average people who had a heart their cholesterol level is around 7. Although high cholesterol does not mean you will get heart attack but it increace your chances of getting one. Now I'm on life long statin drug medication. Don't know whether I can keep that dicipline. there goes my love of seafood especially ketam, goreng goreng, lemak. Another problem is I hardly excersise, except on bed...he he

Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2007

Coming March I will be in Jakarta again. This time I'm bringing along whole family. We are going there for Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival (http://www.javajazzfestival.com) from 2nd to 4th March. I was there last year with my wife and we really enjoy it. One of the biggest music event in this region or perhaps in the world. 1000 musicians from all over the world with 15 stages. I envy that Indonesia can host such a big event when others always look down on them. When I minggled around with artists such as Dave Coz, Kool & The Gang during last year event, they are amazed such a big event being organised there and the response from the fans is fantastic. When it comes to music, they are not worried about the Indonesia status as one of the country to be avoided due to terrorist activities. I respected Indonesian music industry and pool of talents that they have. This year Chaka Khan, Sergio Mendes and Jamie Cullum are among their special guest. Looking forward for the trip.

Being alone

School holiday has started. I went back to our second house in Ipoh last Friday with my family and yesterday I came back alone with express bus leaving the rest in Ipoh. Coming back to empty house is not a pleasure as I'm used to my little kid welcome me everytime I came back from office and my wife prepare us dinner. After solat Maghrib, went down to have dinner at Ani Sup Utara. After solat Isyak watch TV (no Astro as the Astro Smart Card being used in Ipoh). Just watch normal TV channel which sometimes can be a bore. I am planning to watch the 4 seasons of The Sopranos DVD which I bought sometimes ago. Never watch it. I also have full seasons of Seinfeld. Never watch it either. I think I'm gonna put on weight. Being couch potatoes. I'm looking forward to go back to Ipoh again this weekend before going to stay at Batu Feringghi for Penang Jazz Festival on 2nd and 3rd Dec. I don't like being lonely. Sometimes yes, but not too long. I miss them.

Ramadhan KH

Masa I visit PERTAMINA Indonesia, di Jakarta, I tertarik dengan sajak that they display very big at the lobby. Wrote by Ramadhan KH, one of Indonesian penyajak terkenal. He passed away last year. Here it goes :

Mega mega yang disentuh pudar
Karena keagungan kerja
Badai-badai yang ditentang nyisih
Karena keagungan jiwa
Tiadalah kebahagiaan sebesar
Kebahagiaan selesai kerja
Tiadalah kelapangan sebesar
Kelapangan kemenangan jiwa
Dan semua pengabdian
Untukkan bagi keagungan bangsa
Dan semua kelelahan
Diuntukkan bagi kemuliaan manusia

Tired vs Lazy

I'm not sure why lately I'm becoming tired and lazy. Easily bored. I have no mood in doing anything. Work matter...argggh !
